At first glance the machine design demonstrates the core competencies of the Felder D 963: strength, stability and ease of use at the highest level. This thicknesser with a planning width of 24.8" (630 mm) has been optimised for high performance and therefore it is a powerhouse in performance and precision. Innovative controls, large and heavy precision components show first class workmanship through maximum precision and durability. The Felder D 963 comprises approved Felder components such as the massive thickness table, the precise setting accuracy and the four trapezoidal spindles. These components have been extended with new, innovative developments, such as the Silent-Power® spiral cutterblock which provides an excellent planning result. Application of lubricantApply the lubricant via the wick from the tank onto the underside of the workpiece.
Integrated planer rollersOptional integrated adjustable bed rollers are available for processing workpieces with high resin or moisture content.
Sectional pressure barA recommended option when planing with a small depth of cut, with very thin workpieces or workpieces with different thicknesses.
Table ExtensionsWhen thicknessing several workpieces at once, the 570 mm long table extension with workpiece roller situated on the outfeed is of particular importance, making it easier to remove them once thicknessed.
Height-adjustable scissor tableAn optional 45 ¼” (1150 mm) height adjustable scissor table is available.
Power-DriveThe fully electrical “Power-Drive” planer table control offers the most precise adjustment and repeat accuracy. With a twist of the knob, you can quickly adjust the planing height, then fine-adjust using the button. An integrated LED-display displays the actual value.
Digi-DriveEnter required dimension, press start and the planer table will move accurately to the required position. Required and actual values are shown on LED displays. Additional optional functions, such as incremental position and four programmable thicknesser table positions are available.
Perfect technology2 spring loaded pressure bars prevent chattering of very thin workpieces during planing.
Continuous speedsRegardless of the type of wood and grain, the variable feed speed of between 4–16 m/min always guarantees a perfect planing result.
Cast iron bearing seatsThe solid cast iron cutter-block housing is built for heavy duty work.
We can also provide rubber outfeed rollers as an option.
The pressure beams combined with the rubber or segmented infeed roller serves to machine simultaneously workpieces of differing width.
