Description

The compact HAMMER K2S sliding table saw offers everything for the ambitious DIY enthusiast and craftsman in the smallest of spaces.

Precise format cuts can be made with the sliding table in conjunction with the outrigger table.

The Hammer circular saw unit impresses with its smooth running, precision and extreme ease of use. The large cutting height of 3 3/16" leaves nothing to be desired. Circular saw blades up to 254 mm in diameter can be lowered completely under the circular saw table. The circular saw blade is easily accessible and changing the saw blade is child's play.

Q & A

Can the K2S take a dado?

  • Yes, you need to order the optional retrofit kit for dado tools (Part nr: 500-07-208) a Euro or US manufactured dado can be used.
  • Forrest - 6" dado can be used. 

What diameter arbor does the K2S have?

  • 5/8" 

Can the blade tilt?

  • Yes, 0 - 45 degree with fixed stops on both ends. 

Can I cut angles against the crosscut fence?

  • Yes, by tilting the fence with scale readout for accuracy. 

What is the rip capacity and can I increase it?

  • The rip capacity is 610 mm (24") and can be extended buy the optional table, legs and round bar (Part nr: 500-07-205) 

Is the rip fence a flip down euro fence and does it measure correctly if changed over?

  • Yes, the fence is a tall and short fence that can be used in both positions. 

Does it come with a plug?

  • No, a local US plug can be purchased to suite your shop conditions. 

What size breaker do I need?

  • The machine would use under max load 16 AMP so a 20 AMP breaker will be enough. 

Is the machine mobile?

  • Yes, you can purchase a rolling carriage and lifting bar for the machine that also works with other Hammer machines. 

Is a scoring unit available on the Hammer K2S?

  • No. 

How many hand-wheels are delivered with the machine?

  • One handwheel that can be switched between height and tilt. 

Dust extraction ports?

  • One 4" main port at the base of the machine and one 2" over the saw blade (Extraction split available optionally (5" opening) - Part nr: 500-07-211)
  • The dust hose is not included but the hold up bar for the hose is included. 

Does the machine come with a splitter?

  • Yes, a 2.8 mm splitter / riving knife (500-07-209) and optional 2mm (500-07-210) 

Is the Hammer machines available with PCS (Preventive contact system)?

  • No, this is only available on our Felder and Format 4 machine lines. 

Can the Hammer dial indicators be use on this machine?

  • No.

Sliding table

The aluminium sliding table ensures precision from the very first cut. Guaranteed hammer stability and precision: the heavily ribbed, milled and anodised aluminium hollow chamber profile of the sliding table, combined with the high-quality guide system, ensures absolutely play-free running!

Outrigger and crosscut fence

The outrigger table provides additional surface support and precision when processing large dimensioned and heavy workpieces. In combination with the aluminium crosscut fence 1300, your Hammer with outrigger table becomes a complete, large panel saw.

Saw aggregate

The Hammer saw aggregate impresses with smoothness, precision and extreme user friendliness. The large cutting height of 80 mm leaves nothing to be desired. Saw blades with up to 254 mm diameter can be lowered completely below the level of the saw table. The saw blade is simple to access and can be changed with ease.

Saw blade tiltable from 0° to 45°

The continuously variable tilt range between 0° and 45° ensures precise mitre cuts. End stops at the 0° and 45° position ensure exact positioning of the settings. A large scale allows precise positioning and easy read-out of the corresponding values. Both the height adjustment and the angle adjustment can be done directly from the operator's side. The scope of delivery includes 1 handwheel.

Grooving, slot and tenoning with the saw

The Hammer panel saw is configured at the factory for the use of special adjustable dado tools. The dado tool can be fitted to the saw arbour and makes it possible to make various width grooves, tenons and slots of between 8 and 19.5 mm in width.

Rip fence

The cutting width on the saw table can be adjusted continuously between 0 and 610 mm (optionally 0-1220 mm). Thanks to the integrated scale in the guide rail, the aluminium fence can be precisely set to the desired position. When carrying out angled cuts with a tilted saw blade it is possible to move the fence from the horizontal to the flat position. The narrow fence edge then enables the rip cutting of very thin workpieces.
