Wide Belt Sander FW 1102 perform

The machine features two processing units - a contact roller unit in the first position and a sanding pad or combination sanding unit in the second position. This means that pre-sanding and fine sanding are possible in only one work step.

Maximum process reliability guaranteed when setting the working height: As the workpiece is fed into the machine, the workpiece thickness is automatically adjusted by means of fibre optic and laser sensors. The measuring device adjusts the passage height exactly to the material thickness, deducting the desired chip removal.

The GLP is another new feature which can be added as an option to your wide belt sander. GLP assists in reducing the power consumption and provides the following benefits:

+ speed reduction of the sanding belt between work processes
+ automatic switch-off of the infeed belt
+ automatic signal for valve control of the extraction system

The clearly structured and intuitive display provides max. productivity. The infeed thickness is clearly shown on the 15" smartouch display and can be adjusted with an accuracy of a tenth of a millimetre.

The digital grit adjustment, for which the machine does not need to be opened, adds another highlight. Via the display the machine is set to the correct sanding belt grit size or can be switched to using a sanding shoe.

The contact roller aggregate calibrates workpieces, and thanks to the reduced contact surface greater chip removal of up to 0.5 mm is possible. The grooved and rubberised contact roller boasts a hardness of 85 Shore and therefore has several advantages over steel rollers.

BCO is a new feature for monitoring the wear of the sanding belt. The operator receives an indication as to which part of the sanding belt is less worn and can therefore feed the workpieces at this point - thus preventing irregular wear of the sanding belt.

The segmented electro-pneumatic sanding shoe can be used for both frame- and lacquer sanding. Because the sanding pad is divided into 25 mm wide segments, it does not always cover the entire working width. For the combination sanding unit, special touch sensors measure length and width of the workpiece at the machine infeed so that the respective segments can be activated in a process-controlled manner.

The nubbed and continuously vulcanised infeed belt guarantees maximum durability. The continuously adjustable feed speed from 2.5 - 18 m/min ensures optimum adaptation to the material and sanding belt grit at all times. The speed can also be adjusted during the sanding process.
In addition, the machine is equipped with a vacuum feed belt which provides additional support for smooth, small and thin workpieces. The vacuum is generated by a high-pressure fan coupled to the feed and acts on the workpiece via the holes in the feed carpet.

The combination sanding unit with a grooved and rubberised contact roller in 45° Shore hardness and 140 mm roller diameter can be used for a wide range of sanding applications.

Because the sanding pad is divided into 27 mm wide segments, it does not always cover the entire working width. Special sensing rollers measure length and width of the workpiece at the machine infeed so that the respective segments can be activated in a process-controlled manner.

On the 2. sanding unit of your FW 1352 an air jet cleaning unit is fitted as standard for the sanding belt. This ensures that the sanding belt remains dust-free and in good working order.
