The Krämer joinery welcomes visitors to its website with the motto "Wood brings home to life." "For us, this phrase describes the feeling of 'being at home,' which only truly emerges when rooms are furnished with the right furniture, doors, and floors. Without wood, rooms seem bare and uninviting; it is wood that turns a house into a home."
The joinery's workshop also embodies this feeling: a solid ash wood floor, an ash staircase leading to the second floor, and, distributed throughout the workshop, the solid wood still to be processed as well as panel cuts with self-applied veneers. Every visitor feels comfortable here, and that's not just due to the material, but also to the people who work together there.
Machine Park on 300 m²
Just over five years ago, Alexander Krämer started his own business and, three years later, began converting an existing machine hall into a joinery. He moved into the new workshop at the beginning of 2024. The machine park consists mostly of completely new machines from Felder, including the Kappa 550 E-Motion sliding table saw with PCS (Preventive Contact System), a spindle moulder, jointer, veneer press, a wide-belt sander, band saw, and edge sander. The equipment is complemented by a slightly older but still fully functional vertical panel saw and an edgebander from Holz-Her, as well as a thickness planer from Martin.
The centerpiece of the joinery is the Profit H200 4-axis CNC machining center. Alexander Krämer particularly appreciates some of its special features: The LightPos LED vacuum cup positioning system makes it possible to position and align the appropriate vacuum cups and consoles quickly and precisely for the respective workpiece. And thanks to the 2-circuit vacuum management, the clamping devices are fixed in place even before the workpiece is positioned.
Since all manual workstations and machines in the joinery are housed in a compact 300 m², the CNC machining center has a bumper at the front and back as a safety device instead of light curtains or pressure mats to save space.
Another advantage of the Profit H200 is the automatic control of the dust extraction port, which switches the extraction power between the drilling head and the main spindle depending on the application. This ensures clean processing of the workpieces.
Alexander Krämer is a dedicated fan of Felder machines and is proud of their performance. With them, he can not only produce high-quality interior fittings for his customers but also support his fellow woodworkers with their production.
Roadmap for the Near Future
Although the joinery is already fully operational, there is still some finishing work to be done on the second floor of the workshop. The office, break rooms, and the panel storage area are planned for that space. Currently, Stephanie Krämer is getting familiar with the new 3D design software TrunCAD, while the next generation of the family is already hopping happily through the workshop. So, exciting developments are certainly to be expected in the future.
